Prefrontal Cortex

The prefrontal cortex regulates emotional responses, behavior, and judgment, which determines the acceptability of various acts, as well as attention to the current task, which allows those without ADHD to complete routine tasks without devoting conscious and focused attention to each step. It is the region of the brain that plans, starts, and perfects activities, as well as making errors, avoiding barriers by taking other actions, and allowing you to focus on the work at hand.
